How do I apply for a job at NYU Langone Medical Center?

All applications should be submitted using the online application process via this link: https://nyulmccareers.silkroad.com/. Click on “Search Current Openings” to review open positions. Once you have identified a position you would like to apply for, click “Apply” and complete the required information. You will need to “Register” for an account to submit your application to NYU Langone Medical Center. How do I apply for a temporary position?

To search and apply to our available temporary opportunities, you may access our Career Opportunities at http://jobs.nyulangone.org/. NYU Langone Medical Center has various temporary opportunities, including our own In-House Temporary Staffing Program. The In-House Temporary Staffing Program is designed to place highly skilled individuals in temporary assignments throughout the Medical Center to help our departments meet their commitment to quality patient care, research and operations. These individuals are Temporary/Casual employees within the Medical Center and adhere to all Medical Center policies and guidelines.

Do I need an e-mail address to apply for positions at NYU Langone Medical Center?

Yes, in order to complete the online application, an e-mail address is required. It is necessary to have an active e-mail account, as you will be receiving e-mail notifications to let you know once your application has been received and when your application has been forwarded to a hiring department for further consideration.

If I don’t have a computer, how can I apply for positions?

If you do not have access to a computer, you may fax your resume to 212-404-3888 to be considered for our current job openings. For best results, please include a cover letter outlining the position(s) that you are interested in.

How do I upload a cover letter to my application?

You’ll have a chance to upload your cover letter when you submit your online application. In Step 4 of your online application process, you will be able to add attachments, including your cover letter, licenses, certifications and other relevant documentation.

What format should my resume be in?

In order for your resume to be submitted successfully, it should be in one of the following supported formats: .pdf, .txt, .rtf, .doc, .docx, or .html

What is the best Internet browser to complete the online application?

Our career site and online application are compatible with all Internet browsers.

When applying online, can I copy and paste my resume?

Yes. After you select “Apply” for a specific job opportunity, you’ll be able to choose the option to copy and paste your resume.

Can I submit my resume by mail or e-mail?

We do not currently accept applications through e-mail. However, you can mail your resume, along with any other pertinent information, to the following address: NYU Langone Medical Center Medical Center, Attn: Human Resources, One Park Ave, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10016.

I’ve submitted my resume already, should I also fax a copy?

No. There is no need to fax another copy.

I do not have a resume available. How should I proceed?

If you do not have a resume available to upload, you can choose the option to “Proceed Without Resume/CV.” This step-by-step process will allow you to provide NYU Langone Medical Center with all of the information needed to consider you for any position you may be qualified for.

How do I check the status of my application?

Our Career Website is updated daily and features our most current job openings. You can login to your account to check the status of the position(s) that you have applied for. We regret that we cannot respond personally to everyone who contacts us. Candidates are encouraged to check their profile and update it regularly so they can be considered for any future positions.

When can I expect to hear from you about my application?

We appreciate your understanding as the resume review process takes time due to the volume of applications we receive. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by a Recruiter and forwarded to a Hiring Manager, if appropriate. You will be contacted within 1-2 weeks if your skills and qualifications are a match for the position(s) applied for.

Who can I speak with about a job that I have applied for?

A Recruiter or Hiring Manager will contact you directly if they are interested in speaking with you about a position you applied for. We regret that due to the volume of applicants NYU Langone Medical Center receives, we are unable to respond to each candidate individually regarding the status of their application. You also have the ability to login to the Careers Website to check the status of your application during the process. If a position is filled or closed, it will no longer appear on this website.

How will I know if a position has been filled or closed?

Interview Preparation

How are individuals selected for interviews?

We receive hundreds of applications on a daily basis. Our Recruiters work diligently to identify candidates that closely match the requirements of each position. Many factors are taken into consideration – experience, skills, education, longevity, certifications, etc. Please read each job description thoroughly to ensure you meet the requirements.

What should I bring to my interview?

Your Recruiter will provide details about the time and location of the interview. All candidates should bring an updated copy of their resume/CV, as well as applicable license(s), certification(s), and any other information that would assist the Recruiter in evaluating your competencies for the position of interest.

How should I prepare for my interview?

Preparing for your interview is very important. Prior to your interview, you should familiarize yourself with our company and industry, as well as with the job description of the position you are applying for. In addition to your prior work experience, you should be prepared to answer questions about your educational and professional credentials, skills, qualifications, and career goals. We expect you to be prepared with the following information:

  • Your full legal name (and former names if applicable), your most recent and previous address history.
  • Comprehensive employment history spanning 10 to 15 years (if applicable).
  • Start and end date of employment, job title, and supervisor’s contact information for each current and prior employer.
  • Contact information for three recent professional references including their title(s) and organization(s).

How do I sign up for direct deposit?

You can sign up for direct deposit on our NYU Langone Medical Center portal. Sign into the portal with your given Kerberos ID and password, and choose the “Payroll and Compensation” link in the left hand column. Next, select “Direct Deposit”and enter your necessary account information. No voided check required.

Do you have any programs to help internal staff seek opportunities for career development?

Yes. Our Steps for Success (SFS) program provides a system for employees to advance in their careers. Eligible employees can apply for internal transfer opportunities, as well as meet with a Recruiter in Human Resources to review their resume and discuss career growth opportunities.

Please explain the transfer process. How much time must elapse before I can be considered for another opportunity?

You must be in a position for a minimum of one year before consideration is given for transferring at NYU Langone Medical Center.
