Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern.
Reporting to the Communications and Marketing team the Social Media Content Intern supports strategic social media channels designed to enhance and protect the reputation of the brand and which supports and highlights the Institutions mission and vision to be a world class patient centered integrated academic medical center. As the intern you will be responsible for helping to create content in support of our social media strategy across various platforms. You will work closely with the communications & marketing team to develop engaging content foster community engagement and drive brand awareness. This role requires a creative thinker with strong communication skills and a passion for and willingness to learn social media trends and best practices. Time management critical thinking skills the ability to work well in a team setting initiative and flexibility are all important in this role. This person needs to have enthusiasm and the drive to succeed as well as a passion for health care and being in an academic medical center setting The ability to work quickly efficiently and have excellent writing computer and organizational skills are a must.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, creating, and scheduling social media content (posts, stories, reels) across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
- Research trending topics and hashtags relevant to healthcare and wellness to inform content strategy.
- Support the development of creative multimedia assets, including graphics, videos, and photos.
- Monitor and engage with followers, responding to comments and messages in line with NYULHs voice and values.
- Analyze performance metrics to identify trends and provide recommendations for optimizing future content.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure brand consistency and alignment with institutional goals.
- Assist with live coverage of events, campaigns, and special initiatives when required.
- Research trending topics, hashtags, and video ideas relevant to healthcare and wellness to inform content strategy, including best practices for YouTube channel growth.
- Support the development and optimization of YouTube (e.g., creating compelling thumbnails, crafting engaging titles, and writing detailed descriptions).
- Assist in project management of upcoming social campaigns and how they tie into larger cross-channel initiatives.
- Work across communications and marketing to understand key moments organizationally to focus on and creative content ideas.
- Stay up-to-date on results to brainstorm new ideas.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a
- Working towards a bachelors degree in business marketing science English or communications
- Some familiarity with marketing or communications
- Understanding and ability with social media tools Facebook X Instagram etc Strong skills in this area a plus
- Proven track record of school success

- Knowledge of and strong interest in social media
- Ability to identify content worthiness of issues and gauge appropriateness of topics for coverage in specific social media channels
Personal Skills
- Excellent writing and editing skills a must
- Enthusiastic proactive high energy personality
- Able to juggle multiple projects and follow through to completion; a problem solver
- Strong oral and interpersonal communications skills
- Shows excellent judgment
- Professional presence and demeanor

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $16.00-20.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Step 1
Apply Online
The NYU Langone hiring process begins with you applying through our online portal. Be sure to update and upload your resume. Shortly after you submit your application, you will receive an email confirmation. Ten days after applying you will receive a talent assessment to be completed.
Step 2
Schedule Interviews
If selected to continue the interview process, HR will reach out via phone or email first. Then, depending on your position, they will schedule an interview with unit managers or team members. You are encouraged to dress professionally for all interviews.
Step 3
Receive Offer
If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. After evaluating the completed references, a decision will be made on who will receive a preliminary offer. If you receive a preliminary offer, HR will start the onboarding process with an agreed-upon tentative start date.
Step 4
Training & Orientation
You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
