Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Manager. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for the management and interdisciplinary coordination of a wide range of strategic initiatives and priorities for the Perlmutter Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office. Ensures strategic goals and objectives of the organization are accomplished. Develops project scope, action items, and timetables and prepares and presents project status reports to management and senior leadership. Serves as liaison to project teams and internal and external stakeholders. This position will work directly with the Associate Director for Clinical Research, as well as CTO and PCC leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages PCCs contributions to the NCI Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network (ETCTN) and other cooperative groups. Reviews the menu of trials regularly and suggests trials to Disease Management Group Leaders to complement current portfolios. 
  • Serves as principal administrative liaison for communications regarding the ETCTN program and trials. 
  • Monitors trial activity and prepares reports required by the ETCTN.
  • Spearheads Lead Academic Organization (LAO) ETCTN application if/when PCC is eligible. 
  • Supports DMG portfolio review to ensure trial offerings are consistent with PCC priorities and patient needs. 
  • Provides support to ensure trials proposed for activation meet PCC research priorities. 
  • Engages PCC and NYC H+H physicians to enhance understanding of trial offerings and assists with referrals as needed. 
  • Manages all aspects of the CTO monthly newsletter. Works directly with leadership to compose featured stories (i.e., Associate Director message, Investigator Spotlight, Trial Spotlight, Meet the Faculty). 
  • Responsible for data management and visualization of PCC activity for newsletter and DMG leaders meeting using Dashboard and CRMS. 
  • Configures and distributes newsletters to all PCC faculty, PCC communications department, and CTO staff via Jungle Mail platform. 
  • Provides administrative support to advance concepts that can lead to investigator-initiated trials. This support includes but is not limited to preparation of slide decks, literature searches, preparations of letters of intent or grant application submissions, responses to requests for application, and preparation of requests for study drug for the laboratory. 
  • Works with the CTO regulatory manager to monitor timelines for protocol activation. 
  • Ensures amendments for ETCTN trials are processed in accordance with central IRB and PCC required timelines. Conducts internal audits and quality checks. May assist in audit/CAPA preparation and coordination. 
  • Prepares for periodic inspection by regulatory agencies. 
  • Provides audit and quality checks of clinical trial placement in Pathways. 
  • Manages monthly CTO Investigator Forum, including coordination of scientific presentations. 
  • Assists in special projects within the CTO and PCC (i.e., IT projects, patient satisfaction/experience, staff engagement). 
  • Prepares reports, presentations, and ad hoc duties required by the Associate Director for Clinical Research. 
  • Supports NCI CTRP (Clinical Trials Reporting Program) reporting as needed. 
  • Plans, manages, and coordinates projects and ensures project initiatives and timelines are met. 
  • Works with complex computerized records systems and maintains security and integrity.
  • Communicates effectively with staff and outside agencies, and assists in the promotion of teamwork.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in a related field. Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible related experience including program/project coordination expertise. Experience working with ETCTN (Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network) trials. Experience working with CTEP (Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program). Experience with JungleMail and newsletter production. Experience with trial portfolio review. Strong background in project management. Effective oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Ability to multi task and manage projects. Action-oriented and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. Exceptionally organized and demonstrated consistent success under pressure. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Power point and Outlook. Familiar with internet applications.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 – $94,021.20 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Schedule Interviews

Receive Offer

If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. Training & Orientation

You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
