Nutrition at NYU Langone

Food & Nutrition Services

Food & Nutrition Services at NYU Langone Medical Center have undergone a major transformation over the years. Local ingredients, award-winning chefs and nutrition education programs have come together to create a uniquely innovative environment for Registered Dietitians.

We are currently rebuilding the entire Food and Nutrition Department since Hurrricane Sandy with a brand new, state-of-the-art Main Cafeteria to open in the Summer of 2015. We have various retail venues that are available for staff convenience. Our patients are offered a spoken menu to meet their diet order and personal preferences.

Not only do we work closely with physicians and the entire multidisciplinary care team to ensure proper nutrition, we share our knowledge and expertise in many ways. Dietitians participate in meetings and on committees, attend rounds, precept dietetic interns and local college students, and participate during employee wellness and community health activities.

NYU Langone Medical Center also serves as a beta site in the NYC Department of Health “healthy hospital food“ initiative. This includes all food served in our cafés, beverage and snack vending machines. It’s an exciting time to join us as we grow and evolve to maintain our organization’s reputation for world-class care and commitment to transform the healthcare foodservice experience from ordinary to extraordinary for all those that we serve.

Tip: Use the Site Location menu to filter down to specific facilities for "NYU School of Medicine" and "Ambulatory/Outpatient" locations.
