Living Our Values: The Story of Hurricane Sandy, NYU Langone, and New York
On October 29, 2012, Hurricane Sandy barreled through the northeast, leaving unprecedented damage in her wake. This video documents some of the media coverage of NYU Langone Medical Center during the storm, including the hundreds of faculty, staff, and students — in partnership with the FDNY, NYPD, Office of Emergency Management, and volunteers — who expertly evacuated 322 patients. Also highlighted are NYU Langone’s recovery efforts and reopening just two months later.
We are incredibly proud of the NYU Langone community and its partners for maintaining professionalism in patient care and for their dedication to patients under these extraordinary circumstances.
