The NYU Langone Health Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery seeks a fellowship-trained pediatric otolaryngologist to serve as Division Chief, Pediatric Otolaryngology at rank will be commensurate with academic level.
Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, completed in 2018, is a state-of-the-art children’s hospital providing world class care as part of NYU Langone Health. Additionally, NYU Langone Health has expanded into Brooklyn at NYU Langone Brooklyn Hospital and Long Island at NYU Langone Long Island Hospital.
The division of pediatric otolaryngology at NYU Langone Health engages in all subspecialty care within pediatric otolaryngology including general pediatric otolaryngology, airway, sinus, otology, voice, craniofacial and multispecialty care.
Division Chief Responsibilities:
Education and Mentoring:
- Direct the biyearly didactic resident education schedule
- Participate in the yearly resident interview and selection process
- Coordinate departmental meetings, grand rounds, conferences
- Develop CME courses related to the division activities
- Promote the academic mission of the division through facilitation of academic development of faculty and trainees
Clinical Care:
- Manage the clinical schedule and workflow at the affiliate hospitals, clinics and operating theatres
- Review the PSQI divisional data and participate in the process
- Review the division finances/clinical productivity and address issues with the Chair and others as designated by the Department Chair
Research:
- Review and encourage research activities in the division and plan for representation at National and International conferences
- Identify and engage in recruitment of research faculty
- Assist in the development of a research enterprise, supported by extramural grant funding
Administrative:
- Represent the department on institutional projects and initiatives that are appropriate or assigned/requested by the Department Chair
- Organize periodic divisional meetings with an agenda that covers clinical care, research and education; submit minutes after these meetings
- Identify and manage conflicts within the division and actively support faculty collaboration on division initiatives
- Engage in the recruitment and long- range planning of the division
- Submit yearly SWOT analysis for the chair to use for resource acquisition
- Liaise with Clinical, Academic and Research vice chairs on issues related to the division
General Responsibilities of Faculty in the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology:
- Teach and train residents and students including the supervision of one fellow each year in complex pediatric otolaryngology.
- Provide patient evaluation and management and surgical care at designated locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island and Bellevue hospital.
- Participate in divisional on-call and consult coverage responsibilities at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital in Manhattan, Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, NYU Langone – Brooklyn, and NYU Winthrop in Long Island.
Compensation Details:
Compensation: $680K-$800K. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual salary may not fall within the listed salary range; consideration will be made for experience, training, hospital/community need, and other factors.

Step 1

Step 2
Schedule Interviews
If selected to continue the interview process, HR will reach out via phone or email first. Then, depending on your position, they will schedule an interview with unit managers or team members. You are encouraged to dress professionally for all interviews.
Step 3
Receive Offer
If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. After evaluating the completed references, a decision will be made on who will receive a preliminary offer. If you receive a preliminary offer, HR will start the onboarding process with an agreed-upon tentative start date.
Step 4
Training & Orientation
You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
