Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Oncology Nurse Navigator – GU/Melanoma, Days.
In this role, the successful candidate Works with patients families and members of the multidisciplinary cancer team to improve the quality of care of the cancer patient The navigator assists patients from point of suspicious findings and seeks resolution through timely diagnosis and treatment eliminates barriers to care and ensures timely delivery of cancer services while providing the patient with education and support through the cancer care continuum
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Navigate patients through the cancer continuum from diagnosis through survivorship. Serves as an educational resource for the patient and family. Assist with scheduling relevant screening, diagnostic tests and consultations. Assist in identifying patients appropriate for tumor conferences, maintain awareness of current clinical trials available, collaborate with clinical trials staff, and make appropriate referrals.
- Works collaboratively with community organizations and other members of the Institute for Cancer Care team to promote the education and support of people with cancer.
- Works within a multidisciplinary team of oncology navigators, social workers, physicians and other members of the cancer program. Works to resolve existing barriers to promote optimal delivery of care. Assist with coordination of designated tumor boards.
- Provides feedback to supervisor on a regular basis. Assists administrative staff to meet departmental and institutional goals
- Responsible for monitoring of best practices in designated cancer site. Collaborates with members of the medical team to ensure information is current and understood by all of the physicians, nurses, and other team members. Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of designated cancer services, ensuring that quality standards and best practices are maintained.
- Contributes data for quality improvement initiatives within the Institute for Cancer Care. Collaborates with tumor registry with relevant data collectionstudies as they pertain to designated cancers.
- Keep informed and current with developments in the field of oncology, health promotion, and patient education programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor s Degree Nursing Current New York State Registered Professional License Current Basic Life Support BLS 1 2 years Oncology Nursing Excellent communication both oral and written interpersonal organizational skills Working knowledge of computers
Preferred Qualifications:
Master s Degree Nursing or PublicHealth Oncology Certification through ONCC 1 2 years CommunityHealth AcademicHealth/program development

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $112,360.00 – $134,620.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Step 1
Apply Online
The NYU Langone hiring process begins with you applying through our online portal. Be sure to update and upload your resume. Shortly after you submit your application, you will receive an email confirmation. Ten days after applying you will receive a talent assessment to be completed.
Step 2
Schedule Interviews
If selected to continue the interview process, HR will reach out via phone or email first. Then, depending on your position, they will schedule an interview with unit managers or team members. You are encouraged to dress professionally for all interviews.
Step 3
Receive Offer
If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. After evaluating the completed references, a decision will be made on who will receive a preliminary offer. If you receive a preliminary offer, HR will start the onboarding process with an agreed-upon tentative start date.
Step 4
Training & Orientation
You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
