We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Financial Analyst.
In this role, the successful candidate as a Senior Financial Analyst, will be responsible for supporting our financial close process, monthly reconciliations and analyses of financial activities. You will also liaise across the various NYU Langone Health departments on accounting issues to ensure all teams are contributing to the integrity of the monthly financial statements. We’re looking for a critical thinker and problem solver to join our accounting team.
- Support the daily operations of the Accounting department as well as the financial statement close process including account reconciliations and analyses
- Prepare standard and adjusting journal entries, as well as cash flow statements, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets as part of the monthly and quarterly close
- Ad hoc special projects as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Assist with our annual financial statement audit and preparation of the consolidating audited financial statements
To qualify you must have a have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and knowledge of general accepting accounting principles; Have 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably including some public accounting experience; proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel; experience with Peoplesoft or similar ERP system is a plus; proactive, detail oriented, resourceful and have the ability to problem solve.
Preferred Qualifications: A cost accounting background is preferred. Experience with a not-for-profit, healthcare institution and a cost or general accounting background preferred.
