Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Manager.
We have an exciting opening for a Project Manager position within the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicines Research Division.
In this role, the successful candidate will manage the research portfolio of Dr. Grudzen, including an 18-site Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute-funded project comparing the effectiveness of nurse-delivered telephonic versus specialty outpatient palliative care in older adults with serious illness discharged from the Emergency Department and a 35 site National Institutes of Health sponsored clinical trial titled Primary Palliative Care for Emergency Medicine. In addition, this role will oversee initiatives administered through the Office of Science and Research in relation to Dr. Grudzens role as Assistant Dean for Clinical Sciences for the NYU Langone Health system.
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing study team members, including senior research coordinators, research coordinators, a senior data analyst and manage the day-to-day operations of the project. The Project Manager will oversee research activities across the 18 sites participating in the PCORI trial and the 35 sites participating in the NIH trial. The Project Manager will ensure sponsor milestones are met for all projects and will help troubleshoot any issues the Senior Research Coordinators encounter. The Project Manager will additionally prepare grant reports for internal and external stakeholders, spearhead the scientific manuscript process, and assist with grant applications.
Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 1. Bachelors degree or equivalent in health care administration or related discipline.
2. Minimum of four years progressively responsible related experience coordinating clinical/research trials studies.
3. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications.
4. Effective verbal and written communication skills, and strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
6. Ability to supervise and manage a team
7. Commitment to continuous learning as required by department administration.
8. Ability to make decisions independently.
9. Ability to manage time, multi task and prioritize work.
10. Strong understanding and knowledge base of coordination requirements associated with clinical/research trials.
11. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems; ability to work well under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience overseeing a large, multicenter clinical trial
2. Experience managing a large team of personnel
3. Masters Degree in health care administration or related discipline is preferred
4. Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Certification is preferred (required in some disciplines).
5. Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred.
6. Experience working in an Academic Medical Center preferred
