Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Associate Director of Secure Solutions Assurance
In this role, the successful candidate Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, the Associate Director of Secure Solutions Assurance is responsible for advising on, assessing, and supporting the secure architecture of technology and application deployments to proactively identify risks through security assurance validation and architectural design; enabling NYU Langone Health to become a world class integrated academic medical center and a nationally acknowledged leader in IT. Key responsibilities are outlined below and overtime additional responsibilities may be added to the position.

- Perform as the central point of contact between internal MCIT teams, mission leads, and department personnel that are initiating IT Security requests.
- Organize and manage the funnel of IT Security projects and requests; manage requests from start to finish ensuring all necessary input from IT security disciplines are completed.
- Communicate with all teams to ensure proper expectations and updates are conveyed in a timely manager. Follow-up with individuals completing tasks to ensure expectations are being met
- Lead and drive the various levels of security Architecture and Engineering Review Processes and work with other enterprise architects to drive execution of strategies and key projects
- Assist CISO in setting multi-year strategies and roadmaps and works with various IT leaders across Clinical, Education, Research, and Corporate Services (primary focus on cyber security technologies):
Drive end-to-end architecture across security product offerings and lead the execution of critical architectural priorities for senior technology leaders to develop secure products.
Understand all facets, domains and concerns of IT security to effectively gather information and accurately determined IT security resources required.
Inspire innovation and deliver quality at speed across offerings and platform and execute these to success through diligent planning, attention to detail, effective delegation, efficient decision making, and individual/team accountability.
Enable and enforce of compliance of standards within application and Infrastructure technology domains
Operationalize and drive compliance of Best Practice and Standards within technology areas
Ensure optimization of use and reuse of technology assets
Develop and implement cyber security architecture framework (roadmaps, product life-cycle, reference architecture) - Build strong inter-personal relationships with peers and other key stakeholders to integrate security controls, resiliency, and quality in all facets of technology and business processes:
Participate on various MCIT operations, advisory committees, and Joint Architecture, Engineering and Design Review Board (JAEDR) to accomplish business goals and objectives.
Liaison with key strategic partners and vendors to ensure technology roadmaps are maintained
Aid technology domains in driving operational excellence, accurate configurations, repeatable processes
orchestrate deep dives on problems identified in critical systems with the ability to examine all layers of the platform delivery with the goal to resolve root cause/s and prevent reoccurrence
Identify potential technology interdependencies during change governance reviews to highlight risk and engagement of all stakeholders
Participate in operational improvement projects to mitigate risks in current delivery
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates broad knowledge across multiple technologies including but not limited to, end user computing, data center security, medical devices, perimeter security, security analytics, cloud security, security monitoring tools and technologies, security solution architecture and governance.
Deep knowledge of cyber security technologies related to Secure internet gateways, DDOS protection, Email Security, Two factor authentication, Perimeter Security, Threat intelligence, Privileged access management, Active Directory, security remote sites, campus wide network, Wireless security.
Specific experience in architecting solutions using F5, Cisco ISE, Palo Alto, Ironport, Infoblox, DUO, Splunk, Anomali a plus.
Experience in evaluating, architecting and managing security in cloud environments like AWS, Google cloud Environment, Azure.
Industry experience with multiple vendors as well as having connectivity with various forums and experts.
Knowledge of developing, setting and driving standards while operationalizing various technologies.
Ability to work across disciplines and in a matrix environment to deliver results through influence.
Demonstrates tech leadership for the respective technologies.
Demonstrates collaborative leadership and be the advocate for MCIT.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
B.S. degree in information systems, computer science or related field
15+ years in technology management in related specialties with intimate knowledge of cyber security technologies.
Industry Certifications a plus: (CISA, CISSP, HITRUST etc.)
Experience managing multiple projects and initiatives
Industry vendor knowledge and established relationships
Effective speaker, collaborative worker and good writing skills
Able to translate complex technical information and implications in business oriented language
Experience with architecture review board governance structure
Knowledge of TOGAF. LEAN, ITIL, NIST, and ISO.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
