Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr Financial Analyst-Financial Planning.
In this role, the successful candidate as the Senior Financial Analyst – Financial Planning will work with the Assistant Director of Financial Planning, Analysis, and Budgets in order to ensure that the budgeting, planning and forecasting responsibilities of the institution are met for all NYULH Hospitals. This includes the production of Profit/Loss statements, Balance Sheet, Sources and Uses and Cash models. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst must assist Finance Leadership/Management in carrying out tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Understands financial planning technologies and methodologies. Possesses an overall understanding of complex financial models. Performs scenario and sensitivity analysis on planning assumptions.
2. Assist in the completion of Long Range Financial Plan, Rolling Forecast, Operating and Cash Budgets for all NYULH Hospitals.
3. Work with Hospital Storefronts to develop / update volume and utilization projections in forecast.
4. Work with managers, directors and storefronts across Finance and Hospitals to ensure the revenue and expense budget and forecast are updated accurately and timely.
5. Incorporate new business lines and programs into multi-year plan and assess/advise on the impact of those initiatives on the financial plan.
6. Maintain and manage the Hyperion Planning / Strategic Finance tools and forecast applications.
7. Maintain appropriate documentation on all forecast assumptions.
8. Ensure cost accounting data (EPSi) is loaded and correctly utilized in EPSi Strategic Product Budgeting (SPB) tool.
9. Work with managed care team in loading all latest payor rate assumptions for the budget year and 4 long range planning years.
10. Work with Decision Support (DSS) team to leverage their input for optimal use of EPSi data within SPB tool.
11. Incorporate debt, capital projects into long range planning applications.
12. Incorporate new technologies, systems and processes to improve the daily operation of the department
13. Special projects, reports and ad hoc analyses as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in a Business subject (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics) preferred with at least 3 years of related experience, and at least 2 years of experience in Financial Planning or Modeling. Advanced knowledge and understanding of budgeting and forecasting methodologies is expected. Other minimum qualifications include: excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving skills, and a comprehensive knowledge of all applications within Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge in hospital operations, revenue and expense models a plus. A graduate degree in finance, business or public administration is preferred.
