Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Facilities Operations Manager – Brooklyn.
In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary: The Environment of Care (EOC) Manager has a direct reporting relationship to the Senior Director Facilities Management and a secondary (i.e. dotted line) reporting relationship to the Senior Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S). The EOC Managers job responsibilities are listed below.
Job Responsibilities:

Assists the Chair of the NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn Environment of Care Committee (EOC) in completing periodic summary reports as it pertains to the Environment of Care Program. Documents and prepares the minutes from the monthly EOC meetings. |

Participates in the activities and program of the NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn Environment of Care Committee. |

Ensures important and time sensitive information pertaining to the environment of care program is communicated to key stakeholders, task forces, work groups and committees (e.g., institutional, hospital, departmental, or issue-specific). |

Assists the Senior Director of Facilities Management, and collaborates and consults with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), to review and investigate incidents related to Safety and Environment of Care and follows up on any related findings and corrective actions until completion. |

Under supervision of the Senior Director of Facilities Management and the Senior Director of EH&S and, in accordance with established NYULH safety policies and programs, ensures compliance with regulatory mandates of Joint Commission, OSHA, EPA, NYS DEC, NYS and NYC DOH and other regulatory agencies having jurisdiction pertaining to the rules and regulations as they apply to the Environment of Care and Life Safety standards. |

Develops/coordinates/conducts/evaluates training as required and assigned. |

Participates in, and follows up on, safety rounds and focused audits to monitor compliance with environment of care and life safety policies and programs. |

Responsible for following up on any regulatory or consultant audits including but not limited to Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety Standards; OSHA regulations; EPA Hazardous Materials and Waste Management standards. |

Works with key departments, managers, and staff to ensure applicable departmental policies and procedures are up to date and are aligned with appropriate NYU Langone Health System Policies. |

Responsible for supporting, promoting and coordinating the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of projects and/or programs as assigned. |

Obtains information from vendors regarding services, products and equipment. Negotiates and solicits bids from vendors. Seeks and brings forth cost containment opportunities and ensures review and approval of leadership before any purchase requests. |

Captures, analyzes and tracks departmental metrics and ensures leadership is kept apprised of the trends. |

Coordinates with key stake holders to ensure the Joint Commission Focused Standards Assessment (FSAs) for standards pertaining to the Environment of Care and Life Safety Chapter are completed on a quarterly basis. |

Oversees and ensures compliance of the NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn Fire Drill and Training Program including DOH required fire and life safety pre-occupancy training. |
15 |
Oversee and ensures completion of the monthly and annual inspection of the fire extinguishers. |
16 |
Works with the Facilities Department to ensure life safety, utilities matrix, electrical inspections and other documentation are up to date and accurate. |

Responds promptly, investigates, and collaborates with others to resolve real and perceived emergencies (e.g., fire alarms; hazmat releases; indoor air quality concerns; injuries; odors). |

Interacts and collaborates with Emergency Management and Enterprise Resilience Department, in regards to reviewing emergency preparedness documentation, assisting in projects and participating in drills, exercises and training as needed. |

Completes and analyzes environment of care and life safety related risk assessments. Consults and collaborates with EH&S as appropriate and necessary. |

Maintains professional affiliations, attends as approved, outside training, conferences, seminars that are applicable to the job responsibilities. |
21 |
Performs other duties as assigned. |
