Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Medical Physicist.
In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary:Provides Medical Physics services related to the use of diagnostic X-ray equipment, including mammographic equipment, to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements of the FDA, and the New York City and New York State Health Codes. Services are to be provided primarily at Bellevue Hospital Center, and at other facilities as assigned. Performs technical measurements and reviews work done by others to ensure that all mandated requirements are addressed. Maintains knowledge and professional credentials in order to satisfy all associated regulatory requirements. Keeps Director of Radiation Safety informed about all substantial issues related to this area of responsibility. Participates in the development of improved techniques for technical measurement and data management including new computer systems and will keep Director informed about this area of responsibility.

Job Responsibilities:
- Acts as liason with NYC Health Department inspectors.
- Performs QA tests on x-ray units as required by the NYCDOHMH.
- Performs diagnostic radiation shielding designs and radiation protection surveys as needed.
- Performs QA testing on mammographic x-ray units as required for ACR/MQSA accreditation and the NYCDOHMH.
- Performs QA testing on CT x-ray units as required for ACR accreditation and the NYCDOHMH.
- Reports findings of all QA tests to Radiology for corrective action. Reports completion and findings of QA tests to Director of Radiation Safety for recording in test schedule database.
- Assists Radiology Department in obtaining ACR accreditation in mammography and CT.

To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:MS. NYS License Medical Physics Diagnostic Radiological.
