Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Services Associate.
In this role, the successful candidate in this position is accountable for OP Government claim follow-up functions. Utilizes previous experience in adjudication of bills and accounts receivable functions. Identifies and resolves claim billing errors.

- Submits clear and accurate claims to third party carriers on a timely basis;
- Utilizes electronic follow-up system to perform billing activities;
- Confirms receipt of third party claims and re-bills claims as necessary;
- Is cognizant of time limits currently in effect for all billing activities and monitors for compliance;
- Handles resubmissions of payor rejections and ensures that efficiently billing to lower the number of claim denials post submission.
- Special projects as assigned by Management
- Understands and adheres to key performance indicators of RCO Teams.
- Meets productivity goals
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Respond to communications in a timely and compliant manner; provide appropriate documents requested by payers or other parties
- Provides information people need to know to do their jobs and make accurate decisions
- Writes clearly and succinctly and ensures messages across with the desired effect

- Demonstrates a high level of commitment to customer service in responding to the needs of internal and external parties or departments
- Provides and solicits correct information as needed or requested
- Account Review
- Reviews assigned accounts in Epic and third party remittances to determine accounts requiring action
- Verifies accurate charge posting and claims submission
- Analyzes any open balances and/or insures accurate payment posting
- Completes appropriate follow-up action as necessary
- Document all actions taken on accounts in the billing system
- Compliance

- On a quarterly basis track assigned goals in e-Performance

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Audit; Appeals; Management of Epic Workqueues; Submit voids and adjustments; Review vendor accounts; Knowledgeable in eMedNY/ePaces applications; Proficient in utilizing OmniPro/Connex; Knowledgeable in Medicare/Medicaid APC/APG methodology; Knowledgeable in Medicare RTPs (correct claims Returned to Provider by Medicare).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma and/or 0-2 years of medical billing and collections experience.
Knowledge of PC applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree or Bachelors degree.
One or more years of medical billing and collections experience
Industry certification (AHIMA, CPC, HFMA, AAPC, etc.).
EHR experience (Epic preferred).
Excel/Microsoft Office.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $45,541.60 – $52,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
