Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern.
In this role, the part time student research intern will work with the study team on a Bloomberg funded study evaluating the effectiveness of added sugar warnings in restaurants in New York City. This position involves conducting in person and online compliance audits of eligible restaurants e g Starbucks McDonalds and third party ordering platforms e g Grubhub Uber Eats and interacting with the research teams at NYU and University of Illinois Chicago.
Job Responsibilities:
- Project knowledge Demonstrate thorough knowledge of our research study study rationale and processes of the study
- Data collection conduct compliance audits in physical restaurants restaurant applications and third party ordering platforms; record the presence and placement of warning labels on foods and beverages within physical restaurants; record nutrition price and marketing information of foods and beverages; converse with restaurant employees as necessary
- Collaboration Engage in weekly team meetings and supervision
- Other research related activities as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Applicants must be enrolled in a degree program Background and/or coursework in public health or related research. Ability to travel to restaurants in NYC independently NYU will provide travel reimbursement. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite Excel Outlook Word Effective oral written interpersonal and time management skills.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $16.00 – $20.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
