Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Manager- Education.

The Education Program Manager will work in close alignment with the Vice Chair for Education and Director of Education Administration to provide a broad range of complex program management for the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Studies CAMS undergraduate college program at NYU. This individual is responsible for the development promotion and coordination of this program including design budget staffing logistics and other supportive functions. The Education Program Manager also facilitates the administration of activities on behalf of the department e g working closely with internal and external faculty invited speakers administration at the NYU College of Arts & Science CAS and undergraduate students. This individual works autonomously and with limited oversight.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

    1. Program Management
      1. The Education Program Manager (EPM) plans, schedules, administers and evaluates over 50 unique CAMS courses taught annually in approximately 120 course offerings to more than 6,500 students in fall, spring, and two summer terms.  
      2. This individual manages course scheduling and registration processes, assists faculty with their needs, schedules and co-leads monthly CAMS faculty meetings, assists students with academic planning (e.g., registering for classes, making changes to degree progress reports, updating grades, supporting graduation services, coordinating independent studies, and developing plans for students who are behind on coursework or received an Incomplete, etc.).
      3. The EPM also supports NYU Global Programs with the management of CAMS courses at sites abroad. 

 

    1. Communication & Marketing 
    2. The EPM communicates with the NYU College of Arts and Science (e.g., Deans Office, Registrar, Advising Office, Degree Audit, Classroom Scheduling, bookstore, library, etc.) and the CAMS student body to provide support and advice on academic and career planning.  
    3. The EPM coordinates approximately one CAMS event per month (sponsored by the CAMS program) to advertise the program, foster students professional development, connect students with mixed media that focus on mental health and development, and improve the mental wellness of our student body.  These events include: a bi-annual mixer with faculty and students, theatre and movie events, speakers, career nights, and a bi-annual end of stressmester.  
    4. The EPM also maintains the CAMS brochures and website with the latest policy, scheduling, and extracurricular information.
    5. This individual coordinates with the Office of The Chair.  

 

    1. Advising
    2. The EPM advises students on preparing for the career of their choosing (e.g., extracurricular clinical and research opportunities in the field of mental health, applying to graduate school, and assessing which career in child and adolescent mental health matches with the students interests). 
    3. This individual is the formal advisor for the student-run, school-based club, CAMS on Campus.  In this capacity, the EPM coordinates monthly Executive Board meetings and supports the Executive Board in organizing student-run General Member meetings throughout the semester. The EPM also coordinates events, attends each CAMS on Campus event, ensures the club stays within the allocated budget, and acts as the final editor for the CAMS on Campus Newsletter. 
    4. This individual holds weekly office hours downtown at NYU.

 

    1. Reports
    2. The EPM prepares CAMS faculty meeting minutes, faculty course evaluations, CAMS grade distributions, and CAMS student enrollment data.  This individual analyzes the findings of these reports and presents recommendations.  
    3. The EPM also plans, arranges, outlines and drafts letters, memos, agendas, and presentations, in addition to preparing and reviewing documents and generating status/progress reports for ongoing and pending program related projects.  The EPM may oversee other staff assigned to support in this responsibility.
    4. The EPM may generate other reports at the Vice Chairs request.

 

    1. Budget/Finance
      1. The EPM participates in the development and administration of program budgets and associated goals.
      2. The EPM works with the Director of Education Administration and finance team to help calculate and disperse CAMS Instructor/TA payments. The EPMs role is to develop and maintain a detailed HR report listing all CAMS personnel, any financial notes that may impact payments, and course enrollment numbers.

 

    1. Program Support and mentoring
    2. The EPM will help to recruit, hire, and train clerical and administrative staff, ensuring all office policies and procedures are correctly implemented. 
    3. The EPM oversees the hiring process of graders and teaching assistants (TA) for the CAMS program and provides them administrative support and supervision.
    4. The EPM manages the on-boarding of Non-Traditional Volunteers within the education mission.

 

    1. Research and Mission Support
    2. The EPM will attend the Education team weekly meeting and participate in mission related activities, such as preparation of posters for national meetings and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.  In addition, the EPM will be called upon to contribute to the design and implementation of research studies, assist in the recruitment of research subjects, help analyze data using SPSS and Microsoft excel, conduct literature reviews, and manage payments for participants.  

 

    1. This individual performs other duties as assigned by the Vice Chair for Education or the Director of Education Administration

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 1 At least 2 years of experience working in an administrative/research Manager role 2 Bachelors Degree required 3 Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word Excel Access Power Point and Outlook 4 Excellent oral written and interpersonal communication skills 5 Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management both internal and external to the department Ability to work independently and collegially within a team 6 Good organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
1 Experience in the fields of education and/or mental health 2 Masters Degree in public health public administration education psychology public policy or a related field 3 Knowledge of NYU undergraduate systems

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 – $106,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Step 1

Apply Online

The NYU Langone hiring process begins with you applying through our online portal. Be sure to update and upload your resume. Shortly after you submit your application, you will receive an email confirmation. Ten days after applying you will receive a talent assessment to be completed.

Step 2

Schedule Interviews

If selected to continue the interview process, HR will reach out via phone or email first. Then, depending on your position, they will schedule an interview with unit managers or team members. You are encouraged to dress professionally for all interviews.

Step 3

Receive Offer

If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. After evaluating the completed references, a decision will be made on who will receive a preliminary offer. If you receive a preliminary offer, HR will start the onboarding process with an agreed-upon tentative start date.

Step 4

Training & Orientation

You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
