Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist.

In this role, the successful candidate assists the primary operating physician to perform cardiac catheterization and selected diagnostic procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Serves as a liaison between clinical staff and families
  • Provides assessment, treatment and patient care to patients undergoing procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab with knowledge of patient growth and development and is appropriate to the ages of the patient served assists with patient and family education.
  • Assists with care of patients undergoing procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab, including Cardiac Catheterization, Ablation, and peripheral vascular procedures
  • Assists with development of protocols and protocols and procedures for use in the laboratory assists with orientation and education of Cath Lab staff.
  • Keeps current on best practice standards new technological and research in cardiology and endovascular fields.
  • Evaluates new equipment, technology and devices makes recommendations based on evaluations and patient outcomes make recommendations for areas for equipment consolidation monitors for equipment failures and waste returns failed equipment and opened and or unused equipment to purchasing manager for vendor credit protects inventory resources.
  • Assists with equipment standardization to ensure cost effectiveness and positive patient outcomes
  • Verifies hemodynamic data reviews angiographic and hemodynamic data with operating physician records pertinent data on physician reports inputs completed data in database and ensure final reports are placed in patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures post procedure data is complete accurate and documented according to Cath Lab and Hospital protocol.
  • Understands indications for procedure assists with equipment selection, sets up and prepares equipment for Cath Lab procedures, scrubs as first assistant in Cath Lab procedures, recognizes and implements immediate measures in emergency situations, complies with OSHA, Regulatory Agencies and Hospital safety standards
  • Reviews patient history prior films and other data prior to procedure
  • Assists the primary physician to perform procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology or high school diploma with a minimum of two years of relevant and recent acute invasive cardiology/cardiovascular technologist experience, or AART Radiology Technology registration. Fluent written and spoken English language skills; Physical stamina, manual, dexterity, visual and aural acuity to perform responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
Membership in pertinent professional organizations preferred; Certification as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) preferred.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $85,979.57 – $108,168.72 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Step 1

Apply Online

The NYU Langone hiring process begins with you applying through our online portal. Be sure to update and upload your resume. Shortly after you submit your application, you will receive an email confirmation. Ten days after applying you will receive a talent assessment to be completed.

Step 2

Schedule Interviews

If selected to continue the interview process, HR will reach out via phone or email first. Then, depending on your position, they will schedule an interview with unit managers or team members. You are encouraged to dress professionally for all interviews.

Step 3

Receive Offer

If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. After evaluating the completed references, a decision will be made on who will receive a preliminary offer. If you receive a preliminary offer, HR will start the onboarding process with an agreed-upon tentative start date.

Step 4

Training & Orientation

You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
