Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager, IT Sourcing.
In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with Medical Center IT Missions (MCIT), IT Finance, Legal, and Vendor leadership to ensure alignment with NYU’s goals and objectives, emphasizing quality, innovation, competitiveness, efficiencies, and cost savings. As a key member of the IT Strategic Sourcing team at NYU Langone Health, you will be responsible for leading development of annual and multi-year sourcing strategies and plans, in collaboration with MCIT stakeholders, and members of other departments. You will lead commercial and contractual negotiations of complex and large-scale IT sourcing projects. You will lead a team of IT Sourcing specialists, overseeing their work and ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives. You will be responsible for managing the team’s performance, providing guidance and support, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with identifying opportunities for skill development and career growth within the team.
Job Responsibilities:
• Strategic Sourcing Planning:
– Develop and execute annual and multi-year sourcing strategies and plans in collaboration with MCIT stakeholders and other departments.
– Collaborate with Senior MCIT stakeholders to understand current and future needs in their respective areas.
– Lead end to end, large, complex IT sourcing projects (“7 Step Strategic Sourcing Process”).
• Supplier Relationship Management:
– Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key IT vendors.
– Conduct regular performance reviews (QBRs) and collaborate with vendors to optimize service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiation and Contract Management:
– Lead commercial and contractual negotiations for complex and large-scale IT sourcing projects.
– Provides subject matter expertise on technology contracts and terms including Master Framework Agreements, Software License Agreements (including SaaS, EA), Maintenance and Support Agreements, Product Agreements, IT PS Agreements to formulate strategic recommendations that deliver maximum value and achieve the best outcomes for NYU Langone.
• Market Analysis:
– Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging software technologies.
– Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
• Cost Management:
– Collaborate closely with finance and stakeholders to oversee and enhance cost management.
– Analyze and interpret business needs covering a range of cloud and on-premises services.
– Perform total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiency.
– Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements to meet/exceed the annual savings targets.
• Risk Management:
– Assess and mitigate risks associated with IT sourcing, ensuring business continuity
and compliance with policies, procedures, and contracting principles, regulations.
– Carry out all supplier due diligence as required.
– Takes ownership for sourcing issues and actively participates in their resolution.
• Collaboration and Communication:
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies and objectives.
– Participate actively in shaping policies, processes, workflows, and system design and configuration discussions.
• People Management:
– Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports as well as other IT Sourcing team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
– Builds, engage and evaluate a team of IT Sourcing professionals.
• Other Responsibilities:
– Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
– Minimum of eight (8) years of proven experience in Technology sourcing including IT Services, Software, Cloud.
– Previous people management experience (min. 24 months)
– Proficiency in core Procurement skills; Stakeholder Management, Supplier Management and Performance, Market Analysis, Financial Analysis (TCO), IT Category Management, Negotiations, Procurement Excellence, etc.
– Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to drive change management and gain consensus from stakeholders across the enterprise.
– Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or other recognized certification
Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Console, etc.) and optimizing overall cloud spending

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95-$154,131.63 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Step 2
Schedule Interviews
If selected to continue the interview process, HR will reach out via phone or email first. Then, depending on your position, they will schedule an interview with unit managers or team members. You are encouraged to dress professionally for all interviews.
Step 3
Receive Offer
If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. After evaluating the completed references, a decision will be made on who will receive a preliminary offer. If you receive a preliminary offer, HR will start the onboarding process with an agreed-upon tentative start date.
Step 4
Training & Orientation
You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
