Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Psychologist, Ph.D. or Psy.D.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for the provision of direct psychological/neuropsychological services, supervision of select staff/trainees on the service, and oversight of service-specific clinical responsibilities under the direction of the Program Manager or Supervisor. In addition, Senior psychologists must demonstrate the ability and willingness to participate in additional
activities such as (but not limited to): program development, strategic planning, additional clinical activities to support
service needs, professional service, dissemination, and research.

    1. Provide neuropsychological and psychological assessment. Provide neuropsychological and cognitive
      interventions, individually or in groups. Provide psychological and behavioral interventions, individually or in
      groups. Provide psychological interventions to families, individually or in groups. Ensure that all clinical
      services delivered adhere to regulations and standards set by federal, state, and city agencies, as well as
      national psychology regulatory bodies.
      2. Demonstrates continued proficiency in skills required to evaluate and treat assigned patient populations.
      3. Function as a resource for other interdisciplinary team members on the service. Confers with physicians
      and other intra-disciplinary staff regarding patient care. Available to assist staff and other team members in
      patient management.
      4. Ensure accuracy in outpatient documentation and billing for psychological services rendered on the
      service.
      5. Monitor consistency between psychological/neuropsychological services rendered and treatment
      prescribed, and serves as a role model to staff psychologists and trainees.
      6. Ensure that documentation and billing are done in a timely fashion. Ensure that compliance with patient
      quality control Is maintained. Assist the Supervisor or Program Manager in focused documentation
      compliance reviews.
      7. Assist with the development and implementation of educational programs to advance clinical care. Attend
      departmental educational in-services, workshops, and professional conferences to maintain and update
      current knowledge in the field. Share new knowledge with the staff.
      8. Plan and implement patient-related programming initiatives within the service. Evaluate ongoing efficacy
      outpatient program initiatives. Assist the Program Manager or Supervisor in clinical interventions to reduce
      errors or delays in outpatient service delivery. Ensure safe patient discharge and well-being of patients.
      9. Provide supervisory oversight of neuropsychological and psychological assessments. Provide supervisory
      oversight of neuropsychological treatment/cognitive remediation, individually or in groups. Provide
      supervisory oversight of psychological behavioral interventions, individually or in groups. Provide
      supervisory oversight of psychological interventions for families, individually or in groups. Ensure that all
      clinical services delivered by supervisees adhere to regulations and standards set by federal, state, and
      city agencies, as well as by national psychology regulatory bodies.
      10. Assist with the orientation of new inpatient/outpatient staff and trainees. Provide on-the-job training in areas
      of direct inpatient/outpatient care, rehabilitation psychology methods and techniques, and departmental
      policies and procedures. Instruct new inpatient/outpatient staff in the organization, procedures, and
      protocols of the service.
      11. When required, provide statistical data for clinical services delivered.
      12. When required, prepare, reviews and finalizes proposals, manuscripts, and reports based on research
      activities.
      13. When required, maintain ongoing communication with the Coordinator of Psychology Research regarding research activities, recruitment issues, and pending deadlines for research project completion.
      14. When required, in collaboration with the Coordinator of Psychology Research, plan, develop, and
      implement research activities to advance the clinical research of the Department.
      15. Consistently meet performance requirements in terms of productivity, documentation and compliance.
      16. Demonstrate consistently advanced evaluation and intervention skills.
      17. Demonstrate the ability and willingness to participate in additional activities such as (but not limited to):
      program development, strategic planning, professional service, dissemination, or research.
      18. Demonstrate clearly recognizable specialty area(s) of practice that provide unique or value-added
      contributions to the program (e.g., development of services for a new clinical population; providing
      leadership in a new area; going above and beyond regularly expected clinical or supervisory requirements).
      19. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D). Current license as a Psychologist in New York State. Completion of an
APA-accredited psychology internship and a relevant psychology postdoctoral fellowship/residency (e.g., in
neuropsychology, rehabilitation, health psychology). Prior clinically relevant experience in rehabilitation psychology. Prior
experience in working in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting as relevant to position. Must meet NYULH medical staff
credentialing criteria for psychology core privileges. Documentation of additional specialty education/training is required
for non-core allied health clinical privileges (e.g., biofeedback, neuropsychological testing, rehabilitation psychology, etc.).
At least two total years employed at the Staff psychologist level (or equivalent title/role if experience was at another
institution). Demonstrated skills and responsibilities such as (but not limited to): clinical supervision, administration,
program development. Recommendation by Supervisor of the Service. Approval by Director of Psychology.

Required Licenses: Psychologist

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior supervisory, administrative or program development experience. Membership in relevant professional organizations
(e.g., APA, ACRM, etc.). Eligibility for board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $115,000.00 – $130,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Step 2

Schedule Interviews

If selected to continue the interview process, HR will reach out via phone or email first. Then, depending on your position, they will schedule an interview with unit managers or team members. You are encouraged to dress professionally for all interviews.

Step 3

Receive Offer

If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. After evaluating the completed references, a decision will be made on who will receive a preliminary offer. If you receive a preliminary offer, HR will start the onboarding process with an agreed-upon tentative start date.

Step 4

Training & Orientation

You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
