Position Overview:

NYU School of Medicine at Woodhull Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Director of Labor and Delivery Physician to join our renowned team of healthcare professionals.

The Director of Labor and Delivery Attending is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, management, and oversight of the Labor and Delivery department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role involves managing resources, staff, and performance improvement initiatives, while adhering to regulatory standards and hospital policies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

•             Provide leadership and guidance to the Labor and Delivery team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

•             Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures.

•             Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Labor and Delivery department.

•             Ensure efficient resource utilization.

•             Participate in hospital-wide committees and initiatives related to maternal and newborn care.

•             Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care in the Labor and Delivery department.

•             Collaborate with physicians, midwives, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care pathways.

•             Promote evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives.

•             Address patient concerns and complaints in a timely and effective manner.

•             Assist in recruitment, training, and evaluations of  staff and other learners within the Labor and Delivery department.

•             Provide ongoing professional development and mentorship opportunities for staff.

•             Promote a culture of teamwork, communication, and respect within the department.

•             Monitor and evaluate the quality and safety of care provided in the Labor and Delivery department.

•             Identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based interventions.

•             Participate in quality improvement projects and initiatives.

•             Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and hospital policies.

•             Maintain effective communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. –

•             Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care transitions.

Qualifications:

•             MD/DO with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

•             Extensive experience in Labor and Delivery, including experience in a leadership role.

•             Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.

•             Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and hospital policies.

•             Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.

•             Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

We offer a competitive compensation package and a stimulating work enviroment as outlined below:

Annual Compensation is $385k-$410K:

                            .       403B/457 participation inclusive of a 10% employer contribution with no employee match required

·        Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement ranging from $3000-$3500 inclusive of one week of paid CME time

·        Projected annual revenue sharing payments of up to $30,000 contingent upon meeting required productivity and compliance metrics

·        24 Annual vacations days, 12 Sick Days, 12 recognized Holidays

Step 1

Apply Online

The NYU Langone hiring process begins with you applying through our online portal. Be sure to update and upload your resume. Shortly after you submit your application, you will receive an email confirmation. Ten days after applying you will receive a talent assessment to be completed.

Step 2

Schedule Interviews

If selected to continue the interview process, HR will reach out via phone or email first. Then, depending on your position, they will schedule an interview with unit managers or team members. You are encouraged to dress professionally for all interviews.

Step 3

Receive Offer

If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. After evaluating the completed references, a decision will be made on who will receive a preliminary offer. If you receive a preliminary offer, HR will start the onboarding process with an agreed-upon tentative start date.

Step 4

Training & Orientation

You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
