Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Specialist – Workplace Culture and Inclusion. 

We are seeking world class professionals to join our Workplace Culture and Inclusion team. Workplace Culture and Inclusion uses a dynamic array of listening and needs analysis strategies, learning and change methodologies, and cultural competence/cultural humility to create an engaged workforce that unleashes the potential and performance of a brilliant blend of people to deliver organizational and service excellence.
The Workplace Culture and Inclusion Senior Specialist at NYU Langone Health will be a results-oriented and resourceful professional who can quickly establish themselves as a credible partner to a clinical, research, education, or corporate services leader or department. The individual will develop and implement strategies for a positive workplace environment and have demonstrated skills in the following areas: organizational awareness and intervention, program and project management focused on outcomes; data and situational analysis; coaching leaders, cross group coordination and facilitation and communication.
Organizational Awareness and Intervention:
Applies expertise in organization development (OD) and diversity, equity and inclusion to identify needs, develop awareness, and/or mobilize action to build inclusive and engaged workplace cultures
Partners with leaders to plan, build and sustain culture change
Program and Project Management:
Creative design and delivery of workshops, courses, and online learning tools that foster positive behavior in the workplace by all members of the community; ensure behaviors are promoted that exemplify the highest commitment to quality and service to each other and NYU Langone Health with an elevated sense of purpose toward improving the lives of our patients.
Proficient program and project management skills and ability to operationalize and scale programs.
Attention to detail and a highly organized, process-focused aptitude are required to manage the variety of responsibilities and deliverables.
Data and Situational Analysis:
Utilizes data to monitor the workplace environment to ensure it stays positive and productive.
Analytical skills and ability to translate metrics, research, and trends into strategy and improvement opportunities.
Adeptness at leveraging internal employee engagement data, focus group, and manager information dashboards to create diversity, equity, and inclusion solutions to foster a climate of belonging.
Coaching Leaders:
Coaches and trains leadership in the development and implementation of required programs and the practice of consistent processes to establish and maintain a positive work environment inclusive of our core values.
Translates behavioral observations into concrete and actionable feedback to executive leaders.
Cross Group Coordination:
Experience and credibility as a leader in an environment where the ability to influence, work across complex structures, and build relationships is critical.
Facilitation, Presentation and Communication:
A highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals to engage teams, peers, and management via emails, analyses, slide decks, and designed interventions.
Advanced interpersonal awareness and skills with particular emphasis on assertiveness, supportiveness, listening, and group process.

Job Responsibilities:

•    Utilizes organizational analysis methods to identify opportunities for change/improvement
•    Works with leaders to design programs that support a positive work environment and address potential issues in their infancy; discusses possible action steps to improve the environment including building a culture of respect and belonging.
•    Provides education amongst leadership on how to effectively promote a positive and open work environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up about issues.
•    Establishes feedback mechanisms to solicit feedback from faculty, staff and students in order to assess the effectiveness of education/initiatives designed to promote positivity in the workplace.
•    Regularly measure and analyze, highlight areas of strength and weakness, providing consultative support to identify opportunities, interventions, and initiatives for improvement.
•    Facilitate team meetings, retreats, and town halls for departments and stakeholder groups.
•    Provide leadership coaching, when appropriate, to Managers, Directors, and VP+ leaders via one-to-one and group interactions.
•    Recognize and respond to department needs by providing tailored strategies and solutions to enable appropriate cultural competence/humility and change.
•    Develop effective partnerships with leaders through facilitation, presentation, and influencing skills.
•    Collaborate with other Workplace Culture and Inclusion members on engagement, employee experience and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging education and programming.
•    Define key performance indicators by developing metrics for core programs and processes, and track delivery against program objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have at least five years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Executive Coaching, Organization Development/Effectiveness or Diversity Equity and Inclusion preferably in a strategic planning role or program management
Strong background in and knowledge of Organization Development and Change (ODC) theory and practice, and a broad range of evidence-based ODC interventions
Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred) in Organization Development, Organizational Behavior/Psychology, Change Leadership or a related field required
Experience consulting with senior leaders regarding whole-system, programmatic, and departmental strategic change efforts
Experience implementing and operationalizing evidence-based development and change leadership and management models and frameworks
Prior experience working in the healthcare industry, particularly academic medicine, preferred

Step 1

Apply Online

The NYU Langone hiring process begins with you applying through our online portal. Be sure to update and upload your resume. Shortly after you submit your application, you will receive an email confirmation. Ten days after applying you will receive a talent assessment to be completed.

Step 2

Schedule Interviews

If selected to continue the interview process, HR will reach out via phone or email first. Then, depending on your position, they will schedule an interview with unit managers or team members. You are encouraged to dress professionally for all interviews.

Step 3

Receive Offer

If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. After evaluating the completed references, a decision will be made on who will receive a preliminary offer. If you receive a preliminary offer, HR will start the onboarding process with an agreed-upon tentative start date.

Step 4

Training & Orientation

You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
