NYU Langone Health’s Department of Surgery, part of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, is seeking a dynamic, full-time attending vascular surgeon to join and help expand a robust academic community vascular practice in Brooklyn. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing, collaborative program within a premier academic health system recognized for exceptional patient care, clinical innovation, and educational excellence. For the second consecutive year, NYU Langone has been ranked No. 1 in the nation for cardiology, heart surgery, and vascular surgery by U.S. News & World Report.

The ideal candidate will possess outstanding clinical skills and demonstrate a strong interest in limb salvage with particular expertise in open vascular surgery. A commitment to building and growing the practice, advancing high-quality patient care, and contributing to a collaborative academic environment is essential. Candidates should also have a strong interest in academic medicine and education, with enthusiasm for clinical innovation, program development, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Interest in research and scholarly activity is highly desirable as the division continues to expand its academic and clinical impact.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Performing surgical OR and vein cases;
  • Rounding on inpatients and discharging patients in a timely fashion, as applicable;
  • Seeing all outpatients in a timely fashion; i.e., as closely as possible to the patient’s appointment time (subject to your responsibilities to other patients) or, in the case of unscheduled patients, as soon as practicable;
  • Fielding transfer calls including off hours and taking dedicated vascular call;
  • Timely, accurate and legible completion of Medical Records;
  • Compliance with all performance indicators;
  • Compliance with applicable Regulations;
  • Timely completion of responses to preliminary denials of reimbursement from Third Party Payer reimbursement sources, as applicable;
  • Participation in performance improvement activities including development and/or compliance with clinical pathways;
  • The performance of teaching services assigned by your Chief of Service;
  • Supervision of residents and medical students on Vascular service, as applicable;
  • Participation in in-service education and continuing medical education;
  • Attendance at committee and departmental meetings, as required;
  • Full cooperation with the credentialing and reappointment process; Serving on committees of the School as requested by the Chair of the Department of Surgery or the Dean of the School; 
  • Participation in the teaching program for medical and/or graduate students, residents and fellows in accordance with teaching expectations set forth in the policies of the School of Medicine as modified from time to time;
  • Participation in academic activities that define membership in this community of scholars including mentoring, supervision, recruitment, advisement and governance;
  • Participation in clinical research initiatives in Vascular Surgery.

Step 1

Apply Online

The NYU Langone hiring process begins with you applying through our online portal. Be sure to update and upload your resume. Shortly after you submit your application, you will receive an email confirmation. Ten days after applying you will receive a talent assessment to be completed.

Step 2

Schedule Interviews

If selected to continue the interview process, HR will reach out via phone or email first. Then, depending on your position, they will schedule an interview with unit managers or team members. You are encouraged to dress professionally for all interviews.

Step 3

Receive Offer

If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. After evaluating the completed references, a decision will be made on who will receive a preliminary offer. If you receive a preliminary offer, HR will start the onboarding process with an agreed-upon tentative start date.

Step 4

Training & Orientation

You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
