Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Associate. 

The World Trade Center Environmental Health Center (WTC EHC) Survivor Program is a Federally-funded research and treatment program designed to serve and address the needs of residents, community members, and local workers exposed to the World Trade Center disaster. Members who are eligible for this program receive treatment for WTC-related illnesses with designated providers. They are also offered the opportunity to enter the NYU/Bellevue World Trade Center Health Impacts Research Registry, which provides valuable insight identifying conditions and treatment of WTC-related illnesses. 
 
As a Research Outreach Coordinator, you would be responsible for interfacing with members receiving treatment through the World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP). Primary responsibilities include: informing program members about the NYU/Bellevue World Trade Center Health Impacts Research Registry (WTC EHC Research Registry), conducting informed consent and reporting up to date data on enrollment. Candidates should expect to provide a range of support on projects or program related functions. This is a hybrid position with a potential to become in-person and involves travel between the Health + Hospitals Central Office and WTC EHC research sites in Manhattan.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Member Relations

    • Meets and greets patients and creates a safe environment to discuss research consenting. 
    • Educates program participants about the purpose, risks, and benefits of participating in human subjects research related to the aftermath of the collapse of the World Trade Center towers.
    • Resolves non-routine situations based on established policies and procedures and escalates unresolved issues and questions to the appropriate party

    Project Support

    • Responsible for data entry and data management of research consents in a secure REDCap database
    • Provides research program support in the preparation, interpretation and execution of project materials. This Includes but is not limited to: tracking, organizing and maintaining WTC EHC Research Registry enrollment data, as well as researching and reporting findings on program projects. 
    • Assists with meeting planning, implementation and note taking,  
    • Assists with the design, development and implementation of WTC EHC Research Registry recruitment and retention efforts; including further development of outreach protocols for the Survivor Data Center.

    Reporting

    • Coordinates/communicates project activities with concerned parties, including monthly presentations to program funders and stakeholders. 
    • Assists with data collection efforts regarding members enrollment in the WTC EHC Research Registry and providing feedback to WTC EHC leadership. 
    • Researches problems, issues and concerns and responds to member requests for information.
    • Receives, classifies, and consolidates data. Compiles and prepares reports based on information readily available. Is able to verify, format and interpret information, identify discrepancies and make corrections.

    Administrative

    • Prepares and reviews reports and meeting minutes independently. Develops agendas and other documents for presentations or meetings.
    • Follows proper protocols for filing and storage of research documents and consent forms by sorting, recording and filing written material systematically. Retrieves material from files upon request and keeps records of the movement of file materials. 
    • Documents study information in a timely fashion with clear and accurate record-keeping Maintains routine calendar, schedules appointments and other related duties. 
    • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have an Associate’s Degree is required. Minimum of 1 Year of related experience in an office setting or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Effective Oral, written communication and interpersonal skills. Computer Skills -Working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power point and Access. Ability to develop basic formulae for spreadsheets; set up routine computer procedures; Ability to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software. Ability to proofread documents and write clear, concise 1st draft. Ability to type at a speed of at least 45 net words per minutes.Knowledge of standard office practices. Ability to multi-task while paying attention to details. Ability to use standard office equipment such as copy machines, multi-line telephones, fax machines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in a related field with Bachelors degree preferred, with 1 to 3 years of related experience in an office setting. Experience using REDCap a plus.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $41,977.18 – $50,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Step 1

Schedule Interviews

Receive Offer

If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. After evaluating the completed references, a decision will be made on who will receive a preliminary offer. If you receive a preliminary offer, HR will start the onboarding process with an agreed-upon tentative start date.

Step 4

Training & Orientation

You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
