Application Process
How do I apply for a job at NYU Langone?
All applications should be submitted using the online application process. Please follow the directions in the attachment here to help assist you.
How do I apply for a temporary position?
To search and apply to our available temporary opportunities, use the Job Search function which is accessible on the home page and other pages of our careers site. NYU Langone has various temporary opportunities, including our own In-House Temporary Staffing Program. The In-House Temporary Staffing Program is designed to place highly skilled individuals in temporary assignments throughout NYU Langone to help our departments meet their commitment to quality patient care, research, and operations. These individuals are Temporary/Casual employees within NYU Langone and adhere to all NYU Langone policies and guidelines.
How do I apply for an internship opportunity?
Paid internship opportunities that are available can be found on our careers site by searching via the Job Search function. Unpaid internships are organized by department. You can explore our departments at NYU Langone to find an internship opportunity that suits your educational endeavors. Additionally, please visit the internship page to learn more about our internship opportunities.
Do I need an email address to apply for positions at NYU Langone?
Yes. In order to complete the online application, an email address is required. It is necessary to have an active email account, as you will be receiving email notifications to inform you once your application has been received and when your application has been forwarded to a hiring department for further consideration.
If I don’t have a computer, how can I apply for positions?
If you do not have access to a computer, you can fax your resume to 212-404-3888 to be considered for our current job openings. For best results, please include a cover letter outlining the position(s) that you are interested in. You can also mail your resume, along with any other pertinent information, to the following address: NYU Langone Hospitals, Attn: Human Resources, One Park Avenue, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10016. Additionally, you may apply for positions via your Smartphone as the application process is mobile friendly.
How do I upload a cover letter to my application?
You will have a chance to upload your cover letter when you submit your online application. In Step 4 of your online application process, you will be able to add attachments, including your cover letter, licenses, certifications, and other relevant documentation.
Who do I address the cover letter to?
Cover letters can be addressed To Whom It May Concern, which is preferred.
What format should my resume be in?
In order for your resume to be submitted successfully, it should be in one of the following supported formats: .pdf, .txt, .rtf, .doc, .docx, or .html.
What is the best Internet browser to complete the online application?
Our career site and online application are compatible with all internet browsers.
When applying online, can I copy and paste my resume?
Yes. After you select “Apply” for a specific job opportunity, you will be able to choose the option to copy and paste your resume.
Can I submit my resume by mail or email?
We do not currently accept applications through email. However, you can mail your resume, along with any other pertinent information, to the following address: NYU Langone Hospitals, Attn: Human Resources, One Park Avenue, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10016.
I’ve submitted my resume already, should I also fax a copy?
No. There is no need to fax another copy. Once you have submitted your application, your resume will be on file in our applicant tracking system.
I do not have a resume available. How should I proceed?
If you do not have a resume available to upload, you can choose the option to “Proceed Without Resume/CV.” This step-by-step process will allow you to provide NYU Langone with all of the information needed to consider you for any position you may be qualified for.
Should I withdraw my application if I make a mistake?
No. If you make a mistake on your application, be sure to continue with the application. You can always update your profile after you submit. Withdrawing an application makes you ineligible to apply for the position going forward.
How will I know if my application was submitted successfully?
You will receive an email confirmation after you have completed the online application process. To ensure that the information you submitted was completed accurately, you are encouraged to login to your account and review your information. You will also receive an email confirmation after you successfully apply for a specific position. To check the status of your application, please click Check Application Status.
There are three positions I’m interested in, should I send in three different resumes?
Although only one resume is necessary, you should still apply to all three positions. You may simply update the resume content if anything has changed since your last application submission by updating your applicant profile.
Can I apply to more than one job opportunity at a time?
Yes. If you are interested and qualified, you can apply for several different job openings.
Is a non-U.S citizen eligible for employment at NYU Langone?
Yes. Eligibility varies depending on your visa/residency status and the educational requirements for the position.

How do I check the status of my application?
Our website is updated daily and features our most current job openings. You can login to your account to check the status of the position(s) that you have applied for. We regret that we cannot respond personally to everyone who contacts us. Candidates are encouraged to check their profile and update it regularly so they can be considered for any future positions. When can I expect to hear from you about my application?
We appreciate your understanding as the resume review process takes time due to the volume of applications we receive. If your application is under consideration for a position you will be contacted by the recruiter to speak about the opportunity. Otherwise, you should receive an email letting you know that you are not being considered for the position or that the job has been filled by another candidate.
Who can I speak with about a job that I applied for?
A recruiter or hiring manager will contact you directly if they are interested in speaking with you about a position you applied for. We regret that due to the volume of applicants NYU Langone receives, we are unable to respond to each candidate individually regarding the status of their application. You also have the ability to login to our website to check the status of your application during the process. If a position is filled or closed, it will no longer appear on this website.
How will I know if a position has been filled or closed?
If a position is filled or closed, it will no longer appear on this website. If you applied for a position, you will receive an email notification informing you that the position applied for has been closed and the status under Current Stage will appear as “position closed/filled”.
How can I tell if my resume is still active in the NYU Langone system?
Once you have applied for an opportunity, your resume will remain on file for consideration of future vacancies. However, we always encourage you to visit our site and apply for any new job opportunities by applying to its specific job listing/ID number as long as you meet the qualifications listed.
I’ve sent my resume, but received no response. What is the reason for that?
Once your resume is received, it will be reviewed for any vacancies for which you may qualify. If you qualify, someone from our office will contact you within one to two weeks. You also have the ability to login to our careers site to check the status of your application during the process. Otherwise, we will keep your resume on file for consideration for future vacancies as they arise.
If I am not selected for a position, what happens to my application/resume?
If you are not selected for the position(s) for which you have applied, you will be notified and encouraged to apply for other opportunities that you may also be qualified for.

Interview Preparation
How are individuals selected for interviews?
We receive hundreds of applications on a daily basis. Our recruiters work diligently to identify candidates that closely match the requirements of each position. Many factors are taken into consideration–experience, skills, education, longevity, certifications, etc. Please read each job description thoroughly to ensure you meet the requirements.
What should I bring to my interview?
Your recruiter will provide details about the time and location of the interview. All candidates should provide a current copy of their resume/CV, as well as applicable license(s), certification(s), and any other information that would assist the recruiter in evaluating your competencies for the position of interest to the recruiter before the interview. If the interview is being conducted virtually, this information should be emailed as soon as possible after the interview is scheduled.
How should I prepare for my interview?
Preparing for your interview is very important. Prior to your interview, you should familiarize yourself with our company and industry, as well as with the job description of the position you are applying for. In addition to your prior work experience, you should be prepared to answer questions about your educational and professional credentials, skills, qualifications, and career goals. We expect you to be prepared with the following information:
- your full legal name (and former names if applicable)
- your most recent and previous address history
- comprehensive employment history
- start and end date of employment, job title, and supervisor’s contact information for each current and prior employer
- contact information for five recent professional references including their title(s), organization(s), and email address
- completion of the online application in full that will be sent by the recruiter when they schedule your interview

Is there an orientation program?
“New Beginnings” Day One Orientation is provided to all new hires in order to acclimate our staff to NYU Langone and provide education on many important policies and procedures. Yes. At NYU Langone, we utilize an internal talent mobility platform as part of our Steps for Success (SFS) program. Altogether, we provide a system for employees to advance in their careers. Do you have an employee referral program?
NYU Langone believes that employees are one of the best resources for identification and referral of qualified candidates for employment.
