Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
In this role, the Blood Bank technologists responsibility is to comply with the NYUHC mission statement and provide safe and timely transfusion for all NYUHC patients by carrying out NYUHC transfusion technology processes according to established standards contained in the Blood Bank Quality Assurance Plan and Self Assessment (BBQAPSA) program. The technologist is required to maintain professional currency in the field by attending in-service and CE programs that provide a minimum of 12 CEUs per year.
Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a NYSDOH Licensed as a Certified Clinical Laboratory Technologist. Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology from a program registered by the NYS Department of Education or Bachelor’s Degree in the major of biology, chemistry or physical sciences from an accredited college or university or education requirement grandfathered by the NYSOP. One (1) year experience in a clinical laboratory (completion of an internship at a qualified institution is acceptable). NYS License. 1 year (completion of an internship at a qualified institution is acceptable) Effective Interpersonal and Communication skills required.
Required Licenses: Clinical Lab Technologist-NYS Permit, Clinical Lab Technologist-NYS
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with Hemocare, work experience in a large volume hospital, ASCP, NCA, BB, or SBB credentials preferred.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary for the role is $57.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
