Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Educator, Oasis – Home Health Care.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for analyzing data integrity and consistency of OASIS documentation and assessment processes. Educates/works with clinical staff to clarify documentation and data integrity issues. Ensures appropriate coding and sequencing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Responsible for detailed review of OASIS clinical assessment documentation to ensure appropriateness, accuracy, completeness and compliance.
- Consults with clinical staff. Provides educational guidance to clinicians on code selection, OASIS data item responses, documentation and Plan of Care development. Assures that documentation is consistent with the patient’s condition and the reason for services provided.
- Capture the clinical severity for the level of service provided to ensure quality, cost effective care and compliance.
- Works with Agency leadership to address trends that affect the Agency’s outcome and process measures noted during OASIS review.
- Provide education and act as a resource to clinicians, supervisors, office staff, and billing staff with regards to OASIS C requirements, CMS guidelines, home care ICD-10 coding, PPS guidelines and billing related issues.
- Assists the Finance Department in creating a Home Health Resource Group (HHRG) and Health Insurance Prospective Payment (HIPPS).
- Assists Agency leadership with achieving corporate goals, analyzing data, improving patient care outcomes and patient satisfaction. Participates in Agency quality assessment/performance improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s Degree Nursing. Current and valid NYS Registered Professional Nurse license and registration. 1 – 2 years Home Health care experience. Working knowledge of CMS, OASIS and ICD-10 Coding requirements. Knowledge of Federal and NYS Department of Health regulations. Knowledge of The Joint Commission requirements. Able to promote and strengthen continuous quality improvement concepts. Working knowledge of computer systems and electronic medical record. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Critical thinking. Meticulous attention to detail..
Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS
Preferred Qualifications:
OASIS C Certification (COS-C). ICD-10 Certification (HCS-D). 1-2 years OASIS review/Coding experience in a Home Health agency.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $112,360.00 – $144,684.95 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
