Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst.
In this role the successful candidate Ringstad laboratory in the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience Institute is seeking a qualified Data Analyst to implement and execute analysis pipelines of volumetric imaging data from EM tomography and fluorescence microscopy The Data Analyst will work with Dr Ringstad and Lead Program Managers to segment and quantify images parameterize image features and compare datasets acquired from control and experimental samples All research and programming code must be regularly documented and archived per best practices Other responsibilities of the job will be to coordinate and participate in regular meetings that pertain to data management project coordination and ongoing research projects The analyst will communicate information and data in written and verbal form to the research team A successful applicant will have a high degree of professional maturity commitment to excellence and be able to work autonomously and comfortably in an academic medical center environment
Job Responsibilities:

Analyze volumetric data in collaboration with the microscopy core at NYU Langone Health
Perform various coding debugging and other tasks in support of data analyses
Troubleshoot problems whether due to data or software and rapidly resolve any problems that occur
Under supervision of research faculty analyzes develops and interprets scientific results while maintaining clear documentation of results Presents findings to the team and collaborators
Support the development of draft reports proposal drafts and manuscripts and conference presentations including drafting academic and nonacademic publications and creating tables and other data visualizations for presentations
Provide technical assistance to analysts and researchers in accessing and analyzing datasets as needed
May perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Assist in data analysis write code and deploy computational tools for the exploration of large scale microbial datasets consisting of diverse types of sequencing data Help develop efficient computational pipelines for alignment assembly and annotation of microbial sequencing data Contribute to data analysis and writing for publications and Present at lab meetings and other scientific external meetings Assist senior scientist in overall data analysis Data formation and cleaning of raw data interpreting and visualization of data to perform the analysis and to perform the technical summary of data

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $34.28 – $39.01 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
