Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Research Scientist.
The Brandes Lab at NYU School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated grants specialist to support our research in applying advanced AI models to genomics. The focus of this role is writing and submitting competitive grant applications. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to research work if desired. Our lab has been at the forefront of developing and using innovative AI models especially protein language models to predict protein function and the impact of genetic mutations. Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the lab s funding efforts
- Work closely with the PI and lab members to craft and revise competitive grant applications that faithfully describe the lab s research agenda
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities from the NIH and other sources that align with the lab s research
- Stay updated with relevant scientific literature
- Option to participate in research activities
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 1 Excellent writing skills for clear and effective communication of complex ideas 2 Strong organizational skills 3 Experience in biomedical research 4 Collaborative mindset with great communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in grant writing and an understanding of computational biology genomics and machine learning
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 – $67,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
